    Songs artists and titles can’t be recognized without the use of Wifi. Wifi enables the application to connect to its vast database of music in order to match the song you’re hearing with a title. Without Wifi, this can’t be done. The app can still access the microphone, however, and will save a song for the next time your device is connected to the internet to identify.
  • Can Shazam recognize humming?

    Unlike other music recognition applications, his application can’t recognize humming. In order to match to a track name and artists, the application requires the original version of a song.
  • What platforms is Shazam available on?

    Mobile versions of the software can be downloaded and installed on iPhone, Android and Windows phones. They use cellular data or a Wifi connection to access the song library database in order to identify music. It is also available on the Mac App Store for Mac and Macbooks. It was formally available on Windows computer, but the support for that platform has since been pulled.

It will also ask mobile users if they would like to receive push notifications and alerts.   • How do I install Shazam?

    Shazam can be installed on iPhone from the App Store, on Android from the Google Play store and on Mac computers from the Mac App Store. Downloading may require you to enter login credentials.
